Managing Blood Pressure

High blood pressure occurs when the pressure on the arteries and blood vessels become excessive and cause the arterial wall to become distorted causing extra stress on the heart.  Having high blood pressure long-term, increases the risk of stroke, heart attack and diabetes. Many Americans may not realize they have high blood pressure until serious problems occur.

   

High blood pressure/hypertension may be caused by 

  -Caffeine  -Emotional stress 

  -Smoking  -Birth control pills

  -Obesity   -Consuming a high-salt diet

  -Inactivity -Heavy-metal poisoning

  -Alcohol                       

 

The good news is, there are certain foods and lifestyle changes are natural ways to manage blood pressure.
